February concerts Zweisimmen - Flötenzauber
20.02.2026 , Friday
The 18th "February Festival" in the Reformed Church of Zweisimmen.
The concert association Zweisimmen organizes several church concerts each year, including the "February Concerts" and the two "December Concerts" of the Cantate Choir Zweisimmen.
A varied "Magical Program" from Undine to Carmen.
The flautist MATHIAS EBNER performs with his accompanist ALESSANDRO TARDINO on the piano.
The program falls under the concepts of "Water and Song" and offers a colorful, Ebner-commented wealth of melodies, starting with Carl Reinecke's "Undine" Sonata in the 19th century and concluding with François Bornes' "Fantaisie brillante sur Carmen" via Mahler – Schumann – Tchaikovsky in the 20th century: A truly promising musical arc over the Romantic era.
The flautist MATHIAS EBNER studied, among others, with Peter-Lukas Graf. He teaches at the Basel Music Academy and is a member of the flute octet "les joueurs de flûte" and the Basel Chamber Orchestra, with which he performs at many festivals and concert series in Europe and Japan. For many years, he served as co-director of the Youth Orchestra Weeks at the Menuhin Festival.
Also, the pianist ALESSANDRO TARDINO appears as a soloist and chamber musician at various festivals in Europe. He was a prizewinner at the "Concours international de piano" in Lyon, regularly works as an accompanist at the summer courses of the Mozarteum Salzburg, and is a repetiteur at the Basel University of Music. Additionally, he is also active as a composer.
The duo Ebner-Tardino will set a lively and moving conclusion to this year's February concerts
